Veteran television producer Theresa McKeown moved to Los Angeles in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and film from San Diego State University. She was determined to take the city by storm. Theresa landed on her feet by anyone’s account, first working for Norman Lear and then George Carlin and his wife, Brenda. She eventually made the leap from working with successful people to becoming successful herself.
In short order, Theresa got a job working on “Inside Edition,” quickly becoming its LA director of operations. After nine seasons, she moved on to “American Journal,” producing live shots across the country. The following year, Theresa decided it was time to branch out, so she formed her own production company, Dalaklis-McKeown Entertainment. During the next 10 years, she executive produced hundreds of hours of television for wide-ranging clients, including CBS, Lifetime, USA Network, VH1, MTV, Fine Living, E Entertainment, Fine Living, The Travel Channel, TLC, TNT, and Style Network.
During this time, she still managed to successfully buy and sell real estate for herself, which has always been her passion. Now, she has taken this love of finding beautiful homes for herself and is dedicating her efforts to buying and selling beautiful homes for others. As the producer of many design and do-it-yourself television shows, Theresa brings an added flavor of interior design to her real estate business. Moreover, she’s always delighted to share what she’s learned with her clients.
Theresa has also authored three children’s books in addition to her long and diverse career in Hollywood. As an advocate for education and literacy, she donates her books to various charitable organizations.
